The Death of Mr Lee Kwan Yew

In March 2015, Singapore and beyond grieved the loss of the country’s founding father, Lee Kuan Yew. His passing was the end of an era and was deeply felt by the Singaporeans he left behind.

I was capturing images of the heartfelt ‘Get Well Soon’ offerings from supportive community members when the news of Lee Kwan Yew’s passing reverberated through the halls of Singapore General Hospital, where he had been battling his declining health for weeks. In the hours following, and over the subsequent days, I recorded the raw and unprecedented outpouring of emotions from the people of Singapore as they mourned the loss of their revered leader.
